Pithala


Pithala is an all-time favorite of many people and it is ready in a couple of minutes. Make it like a thick gravy or dry according to your choice. You can enjoy pithala with rice or bhakri accompanied with garlic chutney or green chilli chutney. In pune there used to jhunka bhakri Kendra’s which were very popular and it is said that the pithala was very yummy.....hmmm

Ingredients
  • 8 spoons of besan atta 
  • 1 medium diced onion
  • 2 green chillies 
  • 2 cloves of garlic  
  • 1/2 spoon ginger  
  • 1/4 spoon jeera
  • Curry leaves 
  • Mustard seeds
  • Corriander leaves 
  • Turmeric 
  • Salt  
  • Hing  
  • 3 cups of water 
Process->In the blender grind ginger, garlic, green chillies and jeera to make a paste. Mix besan atta with water to make a smooth paste. Take oil in a pan add mustard seeds, curry leaves and onion. Cook the onion and add the ground paste to it and cook. When cooked add 3 cups of water and salt let it boil. Once boiled slowly add the besan atta paste slowly and stir continiously. Add corriander leaves and serve hot .
