Cabbage or kobi as we say in marathi tastes good when cooked with peas or potato or simply cooked individually. I ate this cabbage fry at my friends house in Mumbai. The grated coconut and urad dal give the cabbage a different taste than usual. You can use this fry to make chapati rolls and serve it as a snack wrap to children.
Ingredients
- 2 cups grated cabbage
- 1 small onion diced
- 2-3 green chillies
- Turmeric
- Curry leaves
- Jeera
- 2 spoons urad dal
- Hing
- Oil
- Salt
- Corriander leaves
Process->Add oil to a heated non-stick skillet. To that add jeera, curry leaves, green chillies, hing and urad dal. Saute the tadka for 1-2 minutes. Next add the onion, turmeric and cook it tender. Finally add the cabbage and salt. Do not put a lid on the skillet while the cabbage is cooking. Keep tossing the fry every couple of minutes. Turn off the flame once the cabbage cooks tender and garnish it with corriander leaves.
Note->Grated coconut is optional.
