My daughter insisted that she wants to eat chutney and appe (paniyaram). Raw mango peanut chutney is a tangy chutney. I have used frozen raw mango and frozen coconut slices for the chutney as it is handy most of the time. I kept the chutney deliberately coarse as it goes well with soft idli or appe's.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup roasted peanuts
- 1/2 cup raw mango slices
- 2 spoons roasted split chana dal
- 1/2 cup wet coconut
- 3-4 chillies
- 2 pinches jeera
- Salt
- 1/2 spoon sugar
Tempering
- Oil
- Mustard
- Hing
- Curry leaves
- Turmeric
Process->In the blender add the roasted peanuts, raw mango slices, chana dal, wet coconut, green chillies and jeera. Pour 3/4 cup of water and grind it slightly coarse. Add salt and sugar and blend it once again. In the meantime heat the oil in a small pan. Add mustard, jeera, hing, curry leaves and turmeric. As the tadka starts spluttering pour it on the chutney and mix it.
Note->Adjust the quantity of the raw mango as per your taste and variety of the mango.
