Bhel puri

All chaat items are enjoyed most when you have them on the streets. Once in a while you should forget the surroundings around you and enjoy that moment. Bhel Puri is one of the popular street foods in India. Each bhel puri stall in India has its own unique and style of making it. I started making bhel puri after I came to US and I stay in a place where you did not get lot of these chaat items. And my trial and errors started. Give it a try and do tell how it is tasted

Ingredients
  • 2 cups puffed rice
  • 3/4 cup farsan/mixture
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • Handful of crushed chips
  • Tamarind chutney
  • 2-3 tortilla chips/puris
  • Corriander leaves
  • Fine yellow sev
  • 2 spoons finely diced raw mango
Process-> You have to heat the puffed rice in the microwave for 45 seconds. This helps the murmura or puffed rice to become crispy. Once it has cooled down and adds the farsan or mixture, crushed chips and mix it. Add the finally chopped tomatoes, onion, coriander leaves and mix it quickly. Pour tamarind chutney on the bhel and give it a toss. Serve it a plate and garnish it with fine sev and raw mango. Give one tortilla chip of puri on the side. Don’t keep the bhel for long or it will become soggy.

Note->The recipe of chutney is in the chutney section
