Dhoodhi curry

Bottle gourd can be used to make lot of different varieties like dal, chutney, curries, koftas, halwa...It is like you think of it and you can make it. Thats what cooking is generally about. I will be telling you about one of the curries which you can try making not very time consuming and yet it tastes yummy.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 dhoodhi cubed
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1 Green chilli
  • Corriander leaves
  • Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 spoon dhaniya jeera powder
  • 1/4 spoon garam masala
  • Turmeric
  • Curry leaves
  • Mustard seeds
  • Jeera
  • Hing
  • Salt
  • Oil
Process->Take oil in non stick pan. Once it is heated add the mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves and hing and let it splutter. Add the onions, green chillies  and let it cook for 3-4 mins on medium flame. As the onions cook tender add the tomatoes, turmeric, red chilli powder, garam masala, dhaniya jeera powder and salt and place a lid and cook. As the juices from the tomatoes start oozing add the dhoodhi and cook it. When the dhoodhi is tender increase the flame and stir it continuously till the water evaporates. Garnish it with corriander leaves and serve it with chapati or rice.
