Simple chole fry

Chole bhatura or chole masala is a very popular dish in any restaurant. Thought instead of making gravy bhaaji will make it like a fry. Was not sure how it would taste. One thing is there the lesser the spices the more you can enjoy the taste of the chole. Serve it with hot phulka and raita.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup chole
  • 1 medium onion cubed
  • 1 small tomato cubed
  • 2 cloves garlic sliced
  • Chole masala
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • Curry leaves
  • Jeera
  • Oil
  • Corriander leaves
Process->Soak the chole in water overnight. Add some salt in the chole and pressure cook giving it 3 whistles. In a hot pan add oil. As the oil gets heated add the jeera and curry leaves and let it splutter. Add the onions and garlic and saute. Once the onion is cooked tender the tomatoes, chole masala, turmeric and salt go in next. Put a lid on the pan and let the tomatoes cook mushy. Drain the water from the chole and fry it in the masala. Garnish it with corriander leaves.
