Lemon Rice

Lemon juice is a popular rice variety in the south. You don't need any perfection in making lemon rice. Just add the right quantity of salt and lemon juice and the lemon rice is ready. It is a perfect lunch box option as it tastes good even if it is cold. There are no garam masala in the rice so even small children tend to enjoy it. 

Ingredients
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1big lemon
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • 2 spoon peanuts
  • Jeera
  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • Hing
  • 1 spoon chana dal
  • 1spoon urad dal
  • Oil 
  • Corriander leaves
Process->Cook the white rice as usual. In a small kadhai take 2 spoons oil. Add the mustard seeds, jeera, hing, curry leaves, green chillies, peanuts and turmeric and let it splutter. Then add the chana dal, urad dal and lemon juice. Saute and turn off the flame. Pour the tadka on the rice and adjust the taste of the salt accordingly. Sprinkle corriander leaves and give it a final toss.

Note->Increase the quantity of memon juice if necessary.
