Dal Kanda

Dal kanda a lovely fry option when you are short of vegetables in the fridge. You can simply eat it or serve with bhakri and thecha. A typical village meal simply delicious .....

  • 1 cup chana dal 
  • 3/4 cup diced onion
  • Turmeric
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 spoon kanda lasun masala
  • Salt
  • Jeera
  • Mustard seeds
  • Oil
  • Corriander leaves
Process->Soak chana dal in water for 2 hours. Drain the water after it is saoked properly. Heat a skillet and add mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves and onion. Saute the onions and add turmeric, red chilli powder. Finally add the chana dal, salt and kanda lasun masala. Place a lid on the skillet and cook it tender. Do not add any water when the dal is cooking. Finally sprinkle some corriander leaves.
