Green leafy vegetables are low in calories and fat, high in dietary fiber, iron, calcium and folic acid. Spring onion is one of them. This is a simple fry cooked with chana dal. You can use the same recipe and but use different leafy vegetables and cook. It's easy to cook and tastes good with bhakri or chapati. Serve some onion or green chilli chutney on the side.
Ingredients
- 3 cups spring onion chopped
- 2 spoons chana dal
- Red chilli powder
- Turmeric
- Hing
- Salt
- Oil
Process->Soak the chana dal in hot water for 30-45 minutes. In a pan add little oil and heat it. Add turmeric and hing. Next add the spring onions and toss it. Add the red chilli powder, chana dal and salt. Put a lid on the pan cook the spring onion and chana dal. Once the chana dal has cooked tender increase the flame and stir continiously till the water evaporates. As the spring onion fry becomes dry turn of the flame.
