Masala buttermilk

In the hot summers when the air is dry and hot and the temperatures have reached the maximum limits the only thought in your mind is which drink will quench my thirst. That’s when buttermilk comes into picture. Buttermilk is one such drink that you can have on a daily basis after every meal. Butter milk has less calories compared to yogurt and it is very good for your digestive system. Matha or masala buttermilk as we say is a very popular drink served in Maharashtra weddings during meals.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Grated ginger 1/4 spoon
  • Corriander leaves
  • Little green chilli
  • Coarsely crushed jeera

Process->Beat the yogurts in the blender add water and blend it once again. When you blend you will see some froth on the buttermilk. Add salt, sugar as per your taste and blend it once again. Pour the buttermilk in glass and add the ginger, jeera, green chilli and corriander leaves. Give it a final stir. Serve chilled or at room temperature as per your choice.

Note-: Add very little green chilli or the buttermilk will become spicy.
