Tamarind chutney is the most important thing that gives chaat and
bhelpuri that punch. As children we use to eat tamarind and salt and it tastes
so yummy. Every chaat corner has its own secret for tamarind chutney and green chutney.
I have tried to combine the ingredients and make one common chutney which you
can use for chaat and bhelpuri.
Ingredients
- Small round of
tamarind
- 3 Green chillies
- Salt
- Handful of mint
leaves
- 3/4 cup water
- 4 spoon jaggery
- 2 pinches of jeera
Process->Remove seeds from tamarind and boil it in water. Once the tamarind has become soft mash it up by hand. In the hot
water add jaggery. The hot water melts the jaggery quickly. Pour the tamarind
and jaggery water mixture in the blender. In that add the mint leaves, green
chillies, jeera and salt and grind it to make a smooth pulp.
Note->Adjust the taste of jaggery as per your taste
